• Set up problems, diagrams, etc ahead of time
  • Resize embedded content in the HTML code by decreasing width and height by the same proportion
  • Insert embedded content with links (*some older computers can't play embedded content)
  • PowerPoint diagrams - group so when you make notes on them the little parts don't move OR save slide as an image and make that the background image so that the parts don't move
  • Do a bunch at the same time - I go through my content each week, taking notes on what I want to make videos on right into my notebooks or PowerPoint slides. I save them up for a morning when I know it will be quiet and I do 5-10 of them at a time.
  • Script: I don't do exact scripts on what I am going to say, but I do make sure I work out the problem on scrap paper so I don't have to take time during the mathcast to enter problem into calculator
  • Drag textboxes for steps to problems into PowerPoint as you record - make sure each step is in its own textbox - it looks like you added an animation, but you are just dragging parts in
  • Use the right tool for the task
  • Use the Pause button
  • In wiki, blog or LMS, create "fake" tables to insert embed codes into - you can put multiple mathcasts next to each other.
